<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology applicable for amelioration of state of the skin (prevention and amelioration of dry rough skin, prophylaxis, prevention, of melasma, wrinkle, etc.) or treatment of hyperlipidemia, etc., by developing a technology controlling amount of free fatty acids and cholesterol in the body. <P>SOLUTION: The new cholesterol esterifying enzymes catalyze cholesterol producing reaction (transfer of an acyl group), without mediating action of coenzyme, by acting free fatty acids and cholesterol or its derivatives as substrates, not acting on fatty acid-CoA complex. The enzyme has 40-45 kDa of molecular weight (gel filtration technique), 3.0-7.0 of acting pH, 4.0-5.0 of optimal pH, acting at 4-60°C, 20-50°C of optimal temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
