The humidifier incorporates a pump (5) for supplying water from a basin (3) to the top part of an evaporation surface(1). A rigid element comprising the evaporation surface is suspended from at least one top connecting-point (15) so that is rests on at least one bottom thrust point (17). The pump is vibration-dampened so that it hangs freely in relation to the water-basin.
