QUEUE CONTROL METHOD IN A WIRELESS LAN SUPPORTING VARIOUS RATES AND A SYSTEM THEREOF, CONCERNED WITH REDUCING TIME WHEN THE PACKET IS STORED IN A QUEUE TO EFFECTIVELY USE A QUEUE

PURPOSE: A queue control method in a wireless LAN supporting various rates is provided to assign a priority to a packet having a quick rate under control of a queue control module, and to store the packet in a queue while reading the stored packet. CONSTITUTION: When a packet is transmitted from a network layer(S10), a queue control module decides whether a space for storing the packet exists in a current queue(S12). If so, the queue control module stores the received packet in the current queue(S16). The queue control module performs a dequeue algorithm by using information stored at an information table by terminal node, selects a packet having the shortest rate, and reads the selected packet from the queue(S18). The queue control module transmits an IP address for a destination attached to the packet to an ARP(Address Resolution Protocol), and receives an Ethernet address corresponding to the IP address from the ARP(S20). The queue control module attaches an Ethernet address for an originator address and a receiver address of the packet, and generates a packet to be transmitted to an MAC layer, then transmits the generated packet to the MAC layer(S22).
