PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high luminance chrominance signal processing apparatus for correcting a chrominance signal component brought into a saturation state to provide an output of a proper chrominance signal. SOLUTION: The exposure is controlled so as not to saturate a luminance signal and chrominance signal levels at that time by each chrominance signal component are recorded in image memories 5, 6, 7 in advance. In the case of carrying out exposure control for main exposure, chrominance signal components discriminated to be in a saturation state by signal comparison circuits 9, 10, 11 are corrected on the basis of the chrominance signal components recorded in advance in the image memories 5, 6, 7.
