<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a contact pressure of seal bars by adjusting an interval between prior and subsequent moving packages to prevent wrinkles on a lateral seal in a bag-making, filling and packaging machine. <P>SOLUTION: A power shaft 61 connecting with a first holding belt 19 is coupled with an input shaft of a variable transmission 55 via a second transmission shaft 62 and an endless chain 63. An output shaft 64 of the transmission 55 is coupled with a third transmission shaft 65 via a chain 66. The third transmission shaft 65 is further coupled with a drive rotary shaft 43 of a second holding belt 20 via a timing belt 66, and a tension belt 67 for straining the timing belt 66 is provided. If the speed of the second holding belt 20 is varied with respect to the first holding belt 19 rotating at a constant speed by the operation of a transmission control shaft 68 of the variable transmission 55, the tension of a tube film 14 changes between both prior and subsequent objects 15 to be packaged.
