The mixed (2) signal (s(k)) from the input (1) and the signal (d(k)) from the echo path is fed to a microphone (5). The microphone signal (y(k)) is fed to a subtraction circuit (6) receiving a signal from a digital filter (8). The circuit includes a speech detector (7) connected to a loudspeaker (4). The compensation circuit includes coefficient storage circuits (11) connected to the digital circuit by a multiple switch (10).
