Method for electrical impedance measurement of a human body in which at least two electrodes are used to make impedance measurements by application of time varying signals and measurement of the resultant voltage. The measured voltages are digitized using an analogue to digital converter, averaged over a defined period and decimalized to permit a reduction in the sampling rate. Finally values for the impedance or trans-impedance are calculated. An independent claim is made for a device for measuring the electrical impedance of a human body.
