PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotorcraft fitted with a tail rotor having a rotary drive axis that is substantially horizontal to serve mainly to control the attitude of the rotorcraft in yaw.SOLUTION: Provided is a rotorcraft provided with an anti-torque tail rotor (3) having a drive axis (6) of constant orientation and having a rotor disk that is arranged mainly to one side of the tail boom of the rotorcraft. A control mechanism (14) for controlling the blades (8) of the tail rotor (3) includes a rotary control plate (27) engaged with the blades (8) and movable by a control rod (21) extending along the drive axis (6) of the tail rotor (3). The control plate (27) is arranged in a constant mounting plane (PM) and serves to provide permanent cyclic variation in the pitch of the blades (8). Turning the control rod (21) changes the way in which the cyclical variation of the pitch of the blades (8) is operated between providing a contribution to lift and providing a contribution to propulsion in translation of the rotorcraft, depending on the angular orientation of the control plate (27) in its mounting plane (PM). |
