<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner equipped with a filter device 1 capable of automatic cleaning. <P>SOLUTION: The filter device 1 covering a heat exchanger 15 and arranged in an L-shape is provided with a rotatable winding shaft 11 winding an air filter 6 and a winding drive motor 12 at a lower part and a rotatable support shaft 13 stretching and supporting the air filter 6 and a return spring 14 on an upper part, and is comprised of the belt shape air filter 6 wound around the winding shaft 11, a filter frame 2 guiding the air filter 6 from the winding shaft 11 to the support shaft 13, and a suction duct 3.
