摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device capable of performing display of high luminance by effectively preventing the occurrence of disclination in a dot region and performing alignment control of liquid crystal molecules at low voltage. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal device provided with an array substrate 10 provided with pixel electrodes 9 arranged in a matrix shape on one surface side of the array substrate and switching elements provided corresponding to the respective pixel electrodes 9, an opposite substrate 20 disposed opposite to the array substrate 10 and a liquid crystal layer 50 interposed between the both substrates, the liquid crystal layer 50 comprises a liquid crystal having negative dielectric anisotropy and alignment controlling electrodes 25 extending along boundaries between the pixel electrodes 9 and having nearly stripe shapes in terms of top view are formed on the liquid crystal layer 50 side of the counter substrate 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
