PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile device capable of informing whether a recipient reads a manuscript image received by a receiver facsimile device or not to a sender facsimile device. SOLUTION: A reception processing means comprises a means for extracting a facsimile number of a sender facsimile device from a communication control signal sent from the sender facsimile device during reception, and a means for converting the extracted facsimile number into an encoded image and printing the obtained encoded image on a recording paper with a received image to acquire a received manuscript. A transmission processing means by a reply mode comprises a means for reading a received manuscript set in a manuscript reading unit, a means for extracting an encoded image from a readout received manuscript image, a means for converting the extracted encoded image into a facsimile number, and a means for transmitting a reception confirmation message using the obtained facsimile number as a destination.
