A rapid prototyping system includes a basic component selected from the group consisting of a metal oxide, and one or more aluminosilicate glasses; an acidic component (polymeric, oligomeric or polymerizable low molecular weight acid or hydrolyzable acidic metal salt); and an aqueous binder capable of stimulating a crosslinking reaction between the basic component and the acidic component to form a three-dimensional printed object.
