<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which simply and surely achieves counterfeit prevention of paper money or the like without restriction of regular copying by manual paper feed. <P>SOLUTION: After setting copy condition (ST1), the image forming device judges whether a platen cover is closed down to a predetermined angle (ST2), and detects the size of the original in the main scanning direction when closed (ST3). It is judged whether the size in the main scanning direction is an inhibited size (ST4), and if YES, the inhibition of copy is displayed (ST10), and image reading is inhibited (ST11), and the history is updated (ST12). If NO, it is judged whether the start key is pushed (ST15), and if YES, the image is read (ST6), and the size of the original in the sub-scanning direction is detected (ST7). It is judged whether the size in the sub-scanning direction is an inhibited size (ST8), and if YES, the inhibition of copy is displayed (ST13), and print output is inhibited (ST14), and the history is updated (ST15).
