ALCOHOLIC GELLED SUBSTANCE, ITS PREPARATION METHOD, AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alcoholic gelled substance which contains at least 70 mass% alcohol, has a gel viscosity good in handleability, and can be used for various applications and to provide a method of preparing the gelled substance with a high alcohol content. SOLUTION: This alcoholic gelled substance contains 0.1-10 mass% (meth)acrylic acid polymer, 0.005-1 mass% polyvalent metal salt for gelling the (meth)acrylic acid polymer, and at least 70 mass% alcohol. The (meth)acrylic acid polymer is prepared by polymerizing a monomer component containing a (meth)acrylic acid monomer in a content of at least 50 mol% of the monomer component; the polymer contains neutralized groups in a content lower than 20 mol% of the sum of acid groups and neutralized groups.
