<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy absorbing structure of a vehicle body side part for improving occupant protecting effect in case of a side collision of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: This energy absorbing structure on the vehicle body side is provided with an airbag for restraining the occupant within a cabin by being inflated to the cabin side in the side collision of the vehicle 1. The airbag 9 is arranged longitudinally along a roof side rail part 1d located on an upper side part of the cabin.
