PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the deficiency wherein a light receiving element always detects an infrared ray and existence of a dosimeter element can not be determined, because an OSL element transmits the infrared ray when the dosimeter element is the OSL element in detection of the dosimeter element using the infrared ray. SOLUTION: This OSL element detection device is equipped with a light source for emitting visible light, a light receiving part for receiving the visible light emitted from the light source, a plate 1 where the OSL element is disposed, a moving means for moving the plate 1 in the direction crossing the optical axis of the visible light emitted from the light source to the light receiving part, and a determination part for determining that the OSL element does not exist when the light receiving part receives the visible light emitted from the light source, and determining that the OSL element exists when receiving no light. Existence of the OSL element can be detected by providing the light source for emitting visible light and the light receiving part for receiving the light in a radiation measuring device using the OSL element as the dosimeter element 2.
