PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ring body forming apparatus capable of preventing the seizure of a work caused by friction with a rotary body provided on a support roller and preventing the apparatus from being made large in size by providing the rotary body freely rotatably with respect to a slidable contact part at the part opposed to the side end face in the axial direction of the work in the slidable contact part of the support roller, without requiring an intermediate roller between the forming roller and the support roller. SOLUTION: In this apparatus, a work W is formed by pivotally supporting three rotary elements of: a forming roller 3 in which the ring body forming part 3a is formed on its peripheral surface; a mandrel 5 which faces the forming roller 3 to be nearer to and away from the roller 3 and in which the ring body forming part 5a is formed on the peripheral surface of the intermediated part and control parts 5b, 5b are formed on periphery surfaces of both sides; and a support roller 7 which is provided oppositely on the rear side of the mandrel 5 and in which the slidable contact parts 7b, 7b in contact with the control parts 5b, 5b of the mandrel 5 are formed. A rotary body 13 freely rotatable around the slidable contact part 7b is provided at the part facing the side end face in the axial direction of the work W in the slidable contact part 7b of the support roller 7.
