Suspension of particles produced as follows is new: preparing an internal emulsion comprising an aqueous or organic phase dispersed in a crosslinkable silicone, dispersing the internal emulsion in an aqueous phase, and crosslinking the silicone. Suspension of particles produced as follows is new: preparing an internal emulsion comprising an aqueous or organic internal phase dispersed in a crosslinkable silicone in the presence of an emulsifier comprising a particulate surfactant (optionally with a cosurfactant) or a surface-active organosiloxane block or comb polymer (I) comprising a major fraction soluble in the internal phase and a minor fraction soluble in the silicone, dispersing the internal emulsion in an aqueous external phase in the presence of an emulsifier comprising a nonionic surfactant, a nonionic amphiphilic polymer (optionally with an anionic surfactant and/or an anionic amphiphilic polymer), a particulate surfactant (optionally with a cosurfactant) or a protective colloid, and crosslinking the silicone. An Independent claim is also included for particles produced by removing the external phase from the suspension.
