<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power feeding device and a method for motor power supply capable of using resistance for inrush prevention and protection against overvoltage, and of reducing the number of parts and manufacturing cost in designing a circuit. <P>SOLUTION: This feeding device for a motor power supply comprises an AC power feeder 1; a diode rectifying circuit 3 for rectifying the power supply of the AC power feeder 1; a DC capacitor 15 for smoothing the rectified power supply; the resistance intervened between the AC power feeder 1 and the DC capacitor 15, and which is connected with the DC capacitor 15; a relay 11 which comprises the diode rectifying circuit 3, and a first contact and a second contact connected with the resistance in parallel and in series; a sensing part for sensing the voltage across the DC capacitor 15; a control unit for controlling the relay 11 so as to arrange the diode rectifying circuit 3 and the resistance in series in applying the initial power supply, and so as to arrange the diode rectifying circuit 3 and the resistance 12 in parallel when the sensed voltage across the DC capacitor 15 is of predetermined size or larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
