A motor generator capable of cooling a motor generator body by circulating hydrogen gas (8), wherein a brush seal (21) is installed in contact with the outer peripheral surface of a rotating shaft (7) at a specified position, whereby the contact of sealing oil with the hydrogen gas (8), the contact of lubricating oil for bearings with the sealing oil, and the leakage of the hydrogen gas (8) to the outside of the motor generator can be prevented.
