PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of supplying low-cost, highly-efficient rotary equipment that enables cogging torque to be reduced while maintaining the high efficiency of the rotary equipment whose efficiency is getting higher in recent years even in the combination of number of magnetic poles of a stator and a rotor, which is considered difficult in a prior art, and that improves economy by cutting a production cost, with regard to the shape of an iron core of the rotary equipment of an electric motor, a generator, and the like for which high efficiency and a high output are required in the iron core of the electric motor and the generator. SOLUTION: In iron cores of the electric motor and the generator having two or more magnetic pole pieces, the iron core comprises straight-grooved magnetic pole pieces 3a that are formed by dividing a magnetic pole surface, by providing two or more slits 2a of different depths in such a way as to be asymmetric laterally to the center line of the magnetic pole pieces.
