PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage battery having an excellent cooling effect, allowing an electrode plate group (element) to be relatively easily inserted into cells in assembling the storage battery, and hardly causing degradation of productivity, in a storage battery composed by forming space parts with lower parts thereof opened between adjacent cells of the mono-block type storage battery with a plurality of the cells integrated. SOLUTION: This storage battery is composed by forming the space parts 5b with the lower parts opened 6b between the adjacent cells of the mono-block type storage battery with a plurality of the cells 4 integrated.
