PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone which reduces adverse influences of a sudden large tone volume of a call ringer tone to a user and to provide a control method thereof. SOLUTION: Even when a call ringer tone is set to a constant tone volume (large, medium, small: step S10) in the mobile phone, if the cases of the mobile phone are in an open state (YES in step S20), the tone is gradually increased in the volume (step S31) or the start of tone is delayed or a vibration motor is activated for the delay period (steps S41 to S43) according to the set security notice method(step S30). Thus, the user can obtain an enough time to prepare before the call ringer tone reaches a large tone volume. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
