<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to effectively recycle asbestos cement slate by rendering the asbestos cement slate non-asbestine to produce cement mainly made up ofβ-C<SB>2</SB>S and having high strength manifestation equal to that of Portland cement as a treated product. <P>SOLUTION: The treatment method for rendering asbestos cement slate non-asbestine comprises: coarsely crushing the asbestos cement slate; adding calcareous powder and/or siliceous powder into the coarsely crushed asbestos cement slate to adjust the molar ratio Ca/Si to≥2.0 to≤2.8 ; finely crushing the resultant; and firing the finely crushed asbestos cement slate at temperatures of 600°C to 1,000°C to produce the cement mainly made up ofβ-C<SB>2</SB>S. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
