PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute recording and playing-back simultaneously, and to reproduce even an AV data recorded on a DVD in the past while using the DVD as recording means. SOLUTION: This disk recording/playing-back device is provided with an encoder 1, a decoder 2, a hard disk drive HDD 3, a DVD disk drive 4, a removable disk recording medium DVD 5, and a recording/reproducing control section 6. The storage area of the HDD 3 is provided with an AV data area nad a cache area. When recording and playing-back are simultaneously executed on the DVD 5, control is carried out to temporarily store recording encoding data in the cache area of the HDD 3, and to reproduce the recording encoding data stored in the cache area to record it in the DVD 5 within a range of no influence on the reproduction of the encoding data recorded in the DVD 5.
