<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents reproducing device in which the inter-music blank is not unnecessarily long even when contents having license and contents having no license are coexistent. <P>SOLUTION: The contents recording/reproducing device 10 includes a memory card 12 to reproduce a plurality of music data recorded on this memory card 12. For instance, the presence/no presence of the license and its validity are decided for all music data at the supply of a main power. The music having no license or the music having the license which is invalid is shifted to the end of a reproduction list, i.e. the pieces of music having the valid license are brought together to the top of the reproduction list. Since the pieces of music having the valid license are brought together, the identification of the license performed at the reproduction of each music can be made in a short period of time even when the pieces of music having no valid license are coexistent.
