BODY DIRECTION DETECTOR, METHOD FOR DETECTING BODY DIRECTION, AND VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT PSEUDO-EXPERIENCE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body direction detector by which a body direction is detected based on a change with time in the center of a load caused by stepping in place action without mounting a special member on an examinee, and a method for detecting the body direction and a virtual environment pseudo-experience system using the device. SOLUTION: The body direction detector comprises: a top board-bearing turntable 23 allowing stepping in place when a person rides on the turntable; a plurality of pressure sensors 28 placed on the turntable 23 at its bottom to form a flat surface and detecting pressure; and a controlling personal computer 26 calculating the center of the load being a point projecting the center of gravity of the examinee 250 at the flat surface based on the detection output of the plurality of pressure center 28 and calculating the body direction of the examinee 250 based on the change with time in the calculated center of the load.
