When the shelf (13) is in use, its front cross-bar (17) is supported against the inside (9) of a rear support section (8) of a basket support (6), and when folded away, its cross-web (18) rests on top of the trolley chassis (2). The trolley (1) has two lateral supports in its rear region (5), each one having front and rear support sections extending in an upwards direction to support the trolley basket (10). A shelf for carrying large articles is located beneath a slide (11) and between the lateral supports. The shelf has two support feet (14) and can be pivoted backwards about a horizontal axis (12) from a resting position into a working position. The support surface (15) of the shelf for resting articles on is located above the pivot axis and has its front side bordered by a cross-bar. The lower parts of the support feet are connected to each other via a cross-web.
