PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the coupling efficiency of a spherical lens with optical parts and to effectively realize the simplification of optical design and the reduction in the cost by making the spherical aberration of the spherical lens small. SOLUTION: The optical device has the spherical lens 12 and an optical fiber 14 functioning as the optical part optically coupled with the lens 12, and, especially, space between the lens 12 and the fiber 14 is filled with an adhesive 16 functioning as a refractive index matching member. The adhesive 16 has a refractive index in a range between the refractive index of the lens 12 and the refractive index of the fiber 14±α. For example, assuming that the refractive index of the optical fiber is 1.45 and the refractive index of the spherical lens is 1.5, the adhesive 16 whose refractive index is 1.4 to 1.55 is selected.
