PURPOSE: A sea water interchange breakwater in an area with a big tidal range is provided to prevent waves from being transmitted to an inland sea regardless of the tidal range although tide is high and make sea water smoothly flow. CONSTITUTION: In a sea water interchange breakwater in an area with a big tidal range, bodies of the sea water interchange breakwater are built by connecting plural unit structures(10). For the front of the unit structures, plural-stepped front wall bodies(11,11a,11b) are vertically installed. A semicircular vertical projected rod(12) is installed to the front of each front wall body. Plural sea water-passing holes(13) are bored between the semicircular vertical projected rods of the front wall bodies. The right and left sides of bottom plate surfaces are closed up by stepped-type right and left walls(14,14a) vertically connected to each front wall body. The bottom plate surfaces are vertically connected to the lower rear side of each front wall body. Space parts are installed between the bottom plate surfaces. Side sea water-passing holes(17) are bored to the front wall bodies of the stepped-type right and left walls. A rear wall body(18) is vertically installed to the end of the bottom plate surface of the rear side of the uppermost-end front wall body. Ripraps(3) are filled to the inside of the rear wall body. On the uppermost ends of the front wall body, the rear wall body, and the stepped-type right and left walls, cap concrete(20) is cast in place.
