PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer method for efficiently restricting the re-transmission of data, and also to provide a data transfer device, and a digital camera. SOLUTION: An attachment file 96 is required for reproducing an image file 94. The image file 94 is not changed, but the attachment file 96 attached to the image file 94 is changed by transferring, so that the image file 94 is made to be reproduction impossible. Concretely, the image file 94 and the attachment file 96 are transferred from the digital camera 10 to a reproducing device 92A in a state where the same device information (0123ABCD), i.e., the serial number of the digital camera is respectively described. From the reproducing device 92A to a reproducing device 92B, device information of the image file 94 is transferred as it is (0123ABCD), but device information of the attachment file 96 is transferred after updating into the serial number (0124ABCD) of the reproducing device 92A.
