APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FORMING CORRUGATED STRIP WITH SEMICIRCULAR END PART

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for forming corrugated strip with semicircular end part are provided to reduce the processing steps and simultaneously form a semicircular part on an end part of corrugated part when forming a workpiece to remove post processing such as welding on the end part of the corrugated part and waterproofing. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises upper holder(10) and blank holder(12) oppositely directed to each other and vertically moved to press both sides of a flat workpiece(8); a pair of left and right upper flange punches(14) installed at both ends of a lower surface of the upper holder(10); a pair of left and right lower flange dies(16) installed at both ends of an upper surface of the blank holder(12) in such a way that the left and right lower flange dies(16) correspond to the left and right upper flange punches(14) so that a flange part(8a) is formed at both ends of the workpiece(8); a plurality of upper dies(18) dispersingly installed on the center of a lower surface of the upper holder(10) with being spaced apart from each other in a certain distance; a plurality of punch blocks(20) penetrated into the center of the blank holder(12) in such a way that the punch blocks(20) are vertically moved from lower side to upper side correspondingly to the upper dies(18) to form a corrugated part(8b) on the center of the workpiece(8); and a plurality of buffer means(22) dispersingly installed on a lower part of the blank holder(12) with being spaced apart from each other in a certain distance to buffer impact when the blank holder(12) collides with the upper holder(10).
