<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-air conditioner with improved air-conditioning efficiency by optimizing the mixing ratio of a coolant flowing into a vapor-liquid separator according to operation conditions, and its operation control method. <P>SOLUTION: This multi-air conditioner includes many exterior heat exchangers, many exterior fans for cooling each exterior heat exchanger, and a control means for controlling the rotational frequency of the exterior fans so that the mixing ratio of the vapor-phase/liquid-phase coolant flowing into the vapor-liquid separator via each exterior heat exchanger can be adjusted properly according to each operation condition. In this case, the control means includes a temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of the coolant flowing into the vapor-liquid separator from each exterior heat exchanger, and a microcomputer for comparing the coolant temperature measured by the temperature sensor with the coolant temperature set beforehand, detecting the coolant mixing ratio in an exterior unit pipe, and controlling the rotational frequency of the exterior fans so that the detected coolant mixing ratio agrees with a coolant mixing ratio set according to each operation condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
