ADAPTIVE RECEIVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptive receiver in which the receiving rate is not rapidly deteriorated. SOLUTION: Output signals of four antennas A1to A4are multiplied by complex coefficients w'1to w'4by four multipliers 1-1 to 1-4, and the signals are summed by an adder 2 and output as a composite signal. The composite signal is output to a correlation arithmetic unit 3, a synchronization circuit 6 and a demodulator unit. A coefficient arithmetic unit 4 computes four complex coefficients w1to w4by which the complex signals of the outputs of the four antennas A1to A4are to be multiplied, on the basis of the four correlation coefficients output from the correlation arithmetic unit 3. In this way, the four complex coefficients w1to w4are updated at every prescribed interval. If the time when the update is performed is an effective symbol period, the complex coefficients are updated into the four complex coefficients w'1to w'4in which the absolute value of a change of phase before and after the update is not greater than 100°, and if the time when the update is performed is a guard interval, the complex coefficients are updated into the four complex coefficients w1to w4without limiting the change in phase.
