PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus is provided to irradiate lights emitted from a light source on predetermined positions of a photosensitive drum to improve transfer efficiency and remove a latent image left on the surface of the photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION: An image forming apparatus includes an electrifier(100) for electrifying the surface of a photosensitive drum(110), an exposing unit(120) for forming an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photosensitive drum, a developing unit(130) for supplying a developer to the electrostatic latent image to develop the latent image, and a transfer roller(140) for transferring the image developed by the developing unit onto paper. The image forming apparatus further includes an optical array(150), the first and second light path providing units(162,164). The optical array is constructed in a manner that a plurality of light sources are arranged in a predetermined pattern. The first light path providing unit receives a part of the lights emitted from the light sources and provides a light path through which the received light reaches the photosensitive drum between the developing unit and transfer roller. The second light path providing unit receives a part of the lights emitted from the light sources and provides a light path through which the received light reaches to photosensitive drum that passes the transfer roller.
