PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for searching new physiologically active substances more efficiently with definite predictability. SOLUTION: This method for searching new physiologically active substances is provided by investigating the amino acid sequences of a same kind of receptor having≥2 kinds of sizes for a substance or cell having an antagonistic activity and existing in a living body, or for a substance that a cell or substance having an antagonistic effect to cells to which the substance affects, exists in a living body, and also investigating which domain in a longer receptor is lost in a shorter receptor.
