The heat insulation consists of at least one layer of prefabricated wall segments which overlap or are connected by tongue and groove to each other. The wall segments consist of a supporting insulating layer and an elastic one, whereby the latter is arranged on the inside of the supporting insulating layer facing the outside of the tank while the outside of the supporting insulating layer facing away from the outside of the tank has a vapour barrier applied to it.
