PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel wherein the multiple-tier control mode for reeling up speed and fishline tension can be changed easily. SOLUTION: The electric reel which is mounted on a fishing rod comprises a reel body, a spool, an electric motor, a control mode selective means; a control pattern setting means, a control pattern selective means, and a motor control means. In this electric reel, the control pattern setting means functions to set a plurality of different control patterns having the multiple-tier control mode of the electric motor. The control pattern selective means functions to select one of the plurality of control patterns set by the control pattern setting means.
