The housing which encloses the key has an indicator opening (4,5) on both sides. A spring which loads the slider (8) in the key shaft direction is formed by a leaf spring (15) which is fixed on the end of the slider remote from the key (2). The housing is in two parts (16,17) and the gangway is formed through the slider and through opposite recesses in the housing parts either side of the slider. The recesses extend beyond the edge of the slider about which the indicator body (7) is moved from one housing part to the other.
