PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing unit in which the insertion and removal of a printed circuit board are easy and which has favorable cooling efficiency. SOLUTION: The information processing unit comprises: a housing opened at front and rear surfaces; a shelf housed in the housing; a mother board mounted on the bottom of the shelf; a plurality of guide rails formed to extend in a longitudinal direction on the upper surface of the shelf; a plurality of first connectors mounted on the board; a plurality of printed circuit board units having second connectors respectively connected to the first connectors so that the second connectors are connected to the first connectors vertically disposed and mounted in the shelf; a front cover fixed to the front surface of the housing, and a rear cover having a second fan and fixed to the rear surface of the housing.
