<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preheating scraps charged in a converter by adding a heat source using organic matters containing volatile components because no highly efficient heat source addition method considering even volatile components has been established though heat source addition methods using organic matters such as plastics have been proposed. <P>SOLUTION: In refining steel in a converter, organic matters containing metal scraps and volatile components are charged into the converter, oxidizing gas of the quantity corresponding to oxidization of the volatile components in the organic matters is blown to preheat the scraps. In addition, if the target preheat temperature is≥800°C, the oxygen blowing velocity of the oxidizing gas to be blown into the converter is set to be≥20 Nm<SP>3</SP>/minute. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
