PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for informing exchange time of water purifier filter are provided to automatically inform filter exchange time according to use amount of domestic water purifier. CONSTITUTION: In a water purifier in which a plural water purifying filters(100) are installed inside the main body, and the filters are connected in a series by tube so that raw water passing through filter in which raw water introduced passes through the respective filters connected by the connection tube sequentially and is discharged to water outlet part projectingly installed on the front surface of the main body, the apparatus comprises a memory part(500) for storing purified water amount, filter using cycle, instant water penetration time accumulation and instant penetration water amount accumulation corresponding to the respective water purifier filters and standard purified water amount detected from each filter for informing the exchange time; purified water amount detection means(200) mounted on channel of the respective water purifier filter to detect the purified water amount of the water purifier filter; a control means(300) for converting a mode into sleep mode when the water purifier is not used, controlling indicator so that the indicator is operated when the water purifier is used, comparing target purified water amount read in the memory part with purified water amounts detected in the purified water amount detection means and purified water amounts corrected after computing the filter use cycle, and generating control signals for indicating filter exchange time by comparing the computed instant purified water amounts with a target instant purified water amount after computing instant purified water amounts per time; and an alarm indication part(400) for acoustically indicating the filter exchange time correspondingly to control signals generated from the control means.
