<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a procedure enabling the body of an image forming apparatus to be continuously used even when a trouble has occurred in the transmission of information by checking the abnormality of an information transmission route, judging the correctness of stored contents and correcting information by a replaceable unit (including a cartridge) provided with a memory. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a storage means for backing up the contents of memories in a plurality of units and an information control means for comparing the contents of the storage means with the information of the memories of these units. The information control means is provided with a function for discriminating a communication state, a function for judging the trueness of information/correcting the information and a function for acting for the memory of a unit having a trouble in the storage of information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
