PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing disk drive using an optical pickup, which has a shutter to prevent dirt and dust to the objective lens. SOLUTION: The recording/reproducing disk drive using an optical pickup 10 is characterized in that it has a shutter 9 inserted into a bearing built on an optical base 7 of the disk drive, and a protective cover having a groove formed concentric with the rotary shaft of the shutter 9, and that the shutter turns along the groove following the moving optical pickup 10 to open/close the objective lens 15.
