The invention is of the type that comprises a device for limiting the lateral buckling of tensile armouring plies of a flexible submarine pipe which can be used in the offshore oil industry. Said device comprises, from the outside inwards, at least one outer polymer sheath (1), a first support layer (2) which is wound around an upper tensile armouring ply (3), a lower tensile armouring ply (4) and an inner polymer sheath (5). The invention is characterised in that at least one second support layer (8) having a determined stiffness K2 is wound around each lower tensile armouring ply. The invention is suitable for oil production risers.
