System uses a radio-controlled mobile unit which travels along the engine surface. The unit has a jet system to deliver a dry compressed air stream at the surface, together with CO2 dry ice particles at a speed at least800 Km/hour and can give an air jet stream speed up to Mach 2 at ambient temperatures. Synthetic or mineral particles are also added to the air stream. System uses a radio-controlled mobile unit (10) which travels along the engine surface (50). The unit has a jet system (300) to deliver a dry compressed air stream at the surface, together with CO2 dry ice particles at a speed at least800 Km/hour and can give an air jet stream speed up to Mach 2 at ambient temperatures. Synthetic or mineral particles are also added to the air stream. The mobile unit has a wheeled trolley, fitted with a telescopic arm (20) to carry all or part of the jet system, together with a radio positioning unit (70) and sensors (32,33).
