NOVEL COMPOUNDS AND ANTIMALARIALS

It is intended to provide antimalarials which have an excellent antimalarial activity with little side effects, particularly show a remarkable antimalarial effect on drug-tolerant malaria parasites, show an improved solubility not only in organic solvents such as olive oil but also in water and, therefore, are usable not only as oral preparations but also as injections. The antimalarials contain compounds represented by the following general formula (I), wherein Z represents optionally substituted alicyclic hydrocarbyl; R0 represents a water-soluble functional group; m is an integer of from 0 to 6; and n is an integer of from 0 to 10.
