METHOD FOR DEGRADING DIOXIN USING DIOXIN-DEGRADING BASIDIOMYCETE, NEW DIOXIN-DEGRADING BASIDIOMYCETE AND DIOXIN TREATING AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microbial system capable of efficiently degrading dioxins and a method for degrading the dioxins using the microorganism. SOLUTION: The method for degrading the dioxins includes a method for screening dioxin-degrading basidiomycetes by carrying out two kinds of culturing in which an exposure period to the dioxins is changed, adding a reagent destroying microbial cells after completing the culturing, lysing the microbial cells together with a culture medium, comparing the residual concentration of the dioxins under each of culture conditions and selecting a basidiomycete capable of exhibiting results in which the residual concentration of the dioxins in the culture medium exposed over a long period is less than that in the culture medium exposed in a short time. The method for degrading the dioxins is carried out by treating the dioxins using the selected basidiomycete. The dioxin- degrading basidiomycete is found by the method for screening.
