PURIFICATION METHOD FOR PRODUCING HIGH PURITY NIOBIUM COMPOUND AND/OR TANTALUM COMPOUND

A purification method for producing a high purity niobium compound and/or tantalum compound, characterized in that it comprises adding an organic compound to an aqueous solution having, dissolved therein, a niobium compound and/or tantalum compound containing impurities, and then subjecting the resulting mixture to an extraction treatment. The above aqueous solution is preferably prepared by using crystals obtained by the crystallization of a solution containing a niobium compound and/or a tantalum compound. The purification method allows the purification of a niobium compound and/or a tantalum compound to a high purity product with an easier and simpler procedure at a reduced cost.
