PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out good magnetic transfer by improving both the securement of suction and holding and close contact to a holder in the close contactness between a slave medium and a master carrier. SOLUTION: A magnetic transfer apparatus includes the holder 5 which stores master carriers 3 and 4 carrying transfer information by sucking and holding them to and at the reduced pressure suction parts 11a and 10a of the inner surface of the internal space 6 so that the master carriers face and come in close contact with the slave medium 2 subjected to the transfer, a vacuum sucking means 7 to carry out the vacuum suction of the internal space 6, and a device 8 for applying a magnetic field for the transfer. The pressure of the internal space 6 applied by the vacuum sucking means 7 when carrying out the magnetic transfer is set higher than the suction pressure of the low-pressure suction parts 11a and 10a by 1 to 50 kPa. This maintains the suction and the holding of the master carriers 3 and 4 when the internal space 6 is evacuated before close contact, and prevents coming-off and a positional deviation.
